Greyhounds earn second straight sweep

SPRINGFIELD, Ill.- The 19th-ranked UIndy volleyball team won its third straight Great Lakes Valley Conference match Saturday, handing Illinois-Springfield a 25-12, 25-21, 25-21 loss.  The victory upped the Greyhounds' record to 11-6 overall while keeping the Prairie Stars winless in conference play.

UIndy (11-6, 4-2 GLVC) held the home Prairie Stars (4-12, 0-6) to a .071 team hitting percentage on the day.  The Hounds led wire-to-wire in the first set, ending the frame on a 16-6 run.

The win was the fifth sweep of the season for the Hounds

Sophomore Kristina Kerrigan again led the Hounds with 14 kills to go with a .333 hitting percentage and seven digs.  The Muncie, Ind., native has racked up double-digit kill totals in five straight matches.

Freshman Jaymee Reynolds handled setting duties for the majority of the match, amassing 31 assists and five digs.  Senior libero Lyndsay Callahan led all players with 22 digs.

UIndy has three home matches on tap next week, starting with a non-conference meeting with Indiana Wesleyan Wednesday at 7 p.m.
