INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.--  Michigan Tech used 17 second-half points to run past host University of Indianapolis, 24-10, Saturday afternoon at Key Stadium in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action.  The Huskies held a slim four-point advantage at the break, but held the ball for 22 minutes in the second half to grind-out the win.

UIndy (2-2, 1-2 GLIAC) had the first opportunity after the first of two interceptions by Alex Byrnes.  The Hounds were kept out of the endzone, however, and settled for a 20-yard field goal from Aaron Puntarelli for a 3-0 lead.

MTU (3-0, 3-0 GLIAC) answered in the second quarter, with the big play -- a 78-yard yard reception by Pat Carroll -- to set-up a 6-yard Phil Milbrath touchdown.  The Huskies would take the slim 7-3 advantage into the locker room at halftime.

The offenses awoke early in the second half as Milbrath jaunted in for another score on the Huskies' first drive for a 14-3 lead.  UIndy counter-punched when Chris Mills, who was making his first career start at quarterback, found a wide-open Mar'Quone Edmonds streaking down the center of the field and hit him for a 56-yard scoring strike.

MTU added a field goal to stretch the lead to seven and went ahead by two scores on a Akeem Cason 8-yard run.  With Mills on the sidelines due to injury and noraml starter Rob Doyle also nursing an injury, the Hounds turned to third-stringer Kaleb Ogden to lead the offense.  Ogden converted some key third-down throws but threw an interception, and after a Tech fumble, could not convert on fourth-and-goal at the 10-yardline in the closing minutes.

UIndy was out-gained 429-to-241 on the afternoon.  The Hounds did generate four Husky miscues (three interceptions, a fumble).  Mills finished the day 11-for-27 passing with a TD.  Ogden was 4-for-10 with an interception.    Craig Ray, Mike Dum and Max Davis all compiled double-digit tackle totals for UIndy.  Byrnes had two picks while Nate Jackson added another for the Greyhound defense.

The Greyhounds will travel to Findlay, Ohio for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff with the University of Findlay.  It will be the first meeting between the schools since the 2007 season, a 34-3 UIndy win at Donnell Stadium.

Notes: Mills and Ogden each made their first collegiate appearances at quarterback for UIndy ... Mills made his first career start ... In the last two contests with Michigan Tech, UIndy has generated nine takeaways (five last season, four Saturday) ... Byrnes was the first Greyhound to record multiple interceptions in a game since Craig Ray did so twice in 2008.
