The Eagles scored the next two points to lead, 21-20, but then UIndy regained the lead, 22-21, after a kill by Kerrigan and block by Binkerd and Julia Watkins. A motivated set of Screaming Eagles opened the second set with a 6-0 run, but UIndy fought back to tie the score at 10 after a Bruggeman kill. That leave would be short-lived as USI went on a 9-1 run to go up seven, 19-12, and the hosts didn't look back, 25-20.

The Hounds finished attacking .108 with 13 kills as USI had five blocks and hit .267 with 13 kills.
