INDIANAPOLIS -- Senior
Kristina Hefferan hit .441 with 17 kills, nine digs and two blocks to lead No. 23 University of Indianapolis volleyball over Bellarmine, 3-0 (25-17, 28-26, 25-21), on Senior Day at the Ruth Lilly Center.

Courtney Anglemyer had a season-high 12 kills, hit .556 and had two blocks, while
Hannah Kelzer hit .400 with a pair of kills and a block for the Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division first place Greyhounds (18-6, 14-2 GLVC).
Kristina Kerrigan hit .323 with 13 kills and four digs against the Knights (12-11, 6-10 GLVC) as setter
Meghan Binkerd passed for 48 assists with 10 digs, one kill, one ace and one solo block.
Kourtney Crawford hit .353 with eight kills and two blocks, while
Amy Oldenburg and
Julia Watkins led the defense with 12 digs and three blocks, respectively.
The Knights were led by Alyson Harmeling with 10 kills and Jaclyn Ohlmann led all players with 20 digs.
UIndy hit .380, its third-highest percentage this season with the highest at Bellarmine on Sept. 9 (.466), with 59 kills and just 10 errors, while Bellarmine was able to connect for 40 kills and hit .205. Bellarmine served well with six aces and two errors, but UIndy had more digs, 56-49, and more blocks, 6-4.
The Greyhounds scored via kill for their first five points on the way to a 5-1 advantage. UIndy continued to build on the lead, 19-10, after a block from Anglemyer and Hefferan and kill from Binkerd. The Knights were able to save two set points until a Hefferan kill put them away, 25-17.
UIndy had 20 kills to hit .311 in the set, while limiting the Knights to nine kills and .105 attacking.
Back-to-back aces by Lucy Knott put Bellarmine up 8-4 to start the second set. The Greyhounds came back to tie at 11, but couldn't regain the lead until an attack error by Harmeling put UIndy up, 16-15. The lead was short-lived as a 5-1 run put Bellarmine in front, 20-17. The lead remained three, 24-21, when UIndy saved three set points with two Hefferan kills and an Anglemyer put-away.
Bellarmine earned another set point, but Hefferan answered and then UIndy took the lead, 26-25, after an error. The Knights saved the set, but a solo block by Binkerd and Kerrigan kill let UIndy escape, 28-26, with a two-set lead.
UIndy hit .500 with 20 kills and one error in the set, while Bellarmine hit .220 with 16 kills. The Hounds had four service errors and allowed four aces to let the Knights hang around.
UIndy started the third set in the lead, 1-0, after Krista Gibson of Bellarmine was assessed a red card for unsportsmanlike actions toward a line judge at the conclusion of the second set and a kill by Hefferan put UIndy up 2-0. The Knights came back to tie, 6-6, but then UIndy rattled off five in a row to take control. Bellarmine came right back to close within two, 11-9, but back-to-back Crawford kills kept UIndy up four, 13-9. A kill by Hefferan followed by two Anglemyer terminations put the Hounds up seven, 19-12, and despite some shaky play late they held off Bellarmine, 25-21, on Crawford's kill.
The Hounds had 19 more kills in the final set on .348 attacking, while Bellarmine had 15 kills and hit .279.
UIndy takes to the road to conclude the regular season chasing the rights to host the upcoming GLVC Tournament. UIndy is at Wisconsin-Parkside on Nov. 4 and ends the regular season on Nov. 5 at No. 20 Lewis.
