This Weekend:  The Greyhounds take to the road for the first time in 2011 when Great Lakes Valley Conference play begins at Bellarmine on Friday and Northern Kentucky on Saturday. UIndy will also play a ranked team for the fourth time in its first five matches against the No. 24 Norse.

Series History:  The Greyhounds are 34-18 all-time against Bellarmine with wins in 20 of the last 23 matches, although the Knights did win in Louisville, 3-2, last season.

UIndy is 12-35 against NKU, even with three wins in a row and wins in nine of the last 10.  UIndy's last loss to the Norse was at NKU, 3-1, on Sept. 20, 2008.

GLVC Opener:  The Greyhounds are 11-15 all-time in conference openers, including two losses in a row, and 2-1 against Bellarmine in this situation.

Preseason Prognostications:  The Greyhounds were the highest-ranked Great Lakes Valley Conference team in the AVCA Division II Preseason Coaches' Poll at No. 14 in the country, one spot ahead of Lewis.

Conference coaches picked the Greyhounds to finish second in the GLVC East behind defending champion Lewis. UIndy received four first-place votes in the polling.

A Lot of Heff:  Senior outside hitter Kristina Hefferan led all players in the UIndy Invitational with 78 kills, including a career-high 31 kills against Hillsdale. She ranks fifth in the GLVC with 4.11 kills per set as she approaches 1,000 career kills (889).

Kerrigan All-Around:  Junior all-region outside hitter Kristina Kerrigan continues to expand her game as she matched her previous career total with three kills-digs double-doubles in the UIndy Invitational, including a career-high 18 digs against West Florida, followed by breaking that record later that night with 19 vs. Hillsdale.

What's Old is New:  Junior Amy Oldenburg has taken over the libero role for the Greyhounds from All-Americans Kyleigh Turner and Lyndsay Callahan and played well to average 4.26 digs per set on opening weekend, fifth in the GLVC.

Nationally Ranked:  For the third time in program history and second season in a row UIndy debuted in the preseason poll. The Hounds are No. 20 in the latest poll to mark the 28th consecutive week for the Greyhounds in the AVCA Top 25.

Covering all Angles:  For two years (2006-07), Elkhart Memorial (Ind.) fans saw double with Courtney and Brittany Anglemyer, which resulted in a 36-4 record and 4A state championship appearance in 2007.

Courtney is eighth in the GLVC with 0.89 blocks per set to move into seventh in school history with 265 career block assists. She also moved into the top 10 in career kills (962) as she tries to become the ninth Greyhound in the 1,000-Kill Club.

With Brittany's transfer from IUPUI, the sisters have reunited for the Greyhounds and create a trio of former Crimson Chargers with junior defensive specialist Amy Oldenburg.

Youth Movement:  The Greyhounds relied on three freshmen to open the season. Freshman setter Meghan Binkerd led the offense with 9.79 assists per set to rank eighth in the GLVC. She also had nine kills and 18 digs in a match against West Florida.

Kimberly Trojan and Courtney Roach were significant contributors in the back row rotation. Trojan had two 10-dig matches, while Roach had 16 digs against No. 10 Hillsdale (9/2). Roach and Trojan are both tied for the team-lead in aces (2).
