Volleyball handles KWC with ease

OWENSBORO, Ky. – The No. 10 UIndy volleyball team took care of business at Apollo High School on Saturday afternoon by sweeping Kentucky Wesleyan, 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-18), to remain unbeaten in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

The Greyhounds (24-3, 13-0) were led by Hailey Brown and Arielle Knafel with eight kills each, while Kourtney Crawford had seven kills and hit .417. The Greyhounds hit .311 overall with 42 kills combined among nine different players. Meghan Binkerd had 25 assists, four kills hitting 1.000 and four aces, while Karsey King added nine assists.

Senior Amy Oldenburg led the defense with 15 digs against the Panthers (10-18, 3-10 GLVC). UIndy held KWC to .184 attacking with 29 kills.

Saturday's win was the seventh in a row for the Greyhounds and marked career win 399 for head coach Jody Rogers.

UIndy has a mid-week conference match on Tuesday at 8 p.m. at in-state rival Saint Joseph's.
