Freshman Emily Wolfert led Hillsdale with 11 kills and was named to the all-tournament team with senior Lauren Grover and junior Caitlin Kopmeyer. Grover had nine kills and three blocks, while Kopmeyer had seven kills and eight digs. Alexis Waugh passed out 28 assists and Bailey Lindner picked up 12 digs.
The first set opened with six ties and three lead changes until a kill by Bruggeman started a 5-0 run to put the Greyhounds up five, 13-8, as Kerrigan scored the final three points on two kills and a block assist with Anglemyer. Hillsdale hung around and remained within one, 18-17, on Wolfert's kill, but an error by Haylee Booms and kill by Anglemyer pushed the lead back to three. HC got a Kopmeyer kill on the next point, but Crawford answered for UIndy as it closed the set on a 5-0 run to win on Kopmeyer's error, 25-18. UIndy hit .310 with 12 kills and five blocks that limited Hillsdale to .073 attacking on 12 kills.
Two kills by Kopmeyer and a block by Bekah Draves and Grover put the Chargers up two, 8-6, in the second set, but UIndy roared back with a 7-3 run to regain the lead, 13-11. The Chargers came back with the next two points, but another kill by Anglemyer started a 12-2 run to end the set, 25-15. The Hounds hit .462 with 15 kills and held the Chargers to .091 attacking and 11 kills. Binkerd was 5-of-6 hitting and had 10 assists and two blocks to lead UIndy in the set.
The Greyhounds used their momentum from the first two sets to race to a four-point lead, 9-5, in the third, but Hillsdale would not go away and closed within one, 10-9. UIndy pulled away again to lead by four, 15-11, after Watkins and Crawford stuffed Wolfert. Wolfert came right back with a kill to start a 9-2 Hillsdale run that put it in front, 20-17. Kills by Crawford and Anglemyer cut the lead to one, 20-19, and led to a Hillsdale timeout.
The Chargers got kills from Draves and Kopmeyer and then a block after the timeout to lead by four, 23-19, and make the fourth set a real possibility, especially with UIndy out of timeouts. Waugh missed the next serve to stop the run and gave the serve to Bruggeman for UIndy. Waugh then hit the ball long after a mini-rally and Kerrigan followed with a kill when Waugh was called for blocking as a back row player, 23-22. The Chargers went to Kat Carpenter on the next point and she fired her attack long to even the set.
On the following point the Chargers suffered from a miscommunication as Waugh tried to set Grover. Grover however didn't even jump and Carpenter's attempt to pass the ball over went into the net to set up championship point for UIndy. The Chargers went to Kopmeyer on the right side attack but her cross court attack went way wide as the student section rushed the floor to celebrate with their Greyhounds.
