Kenzie Bruggeman added 12 kills, eight digs and four blocks, as AVCA Third Team All-American setter Meghan Binkerd finished with 54 assists, 13 digs and two aces.

The Greyhounds totaled 82 digs as a team in ending the Chargers' (30-2) 27-match winning streak, while New Haven had only 62. Kimberly Trojan had a career-high 18 digs against New Haven's tip-based offense, while Amy Oldenburg finished with 16 digs. UIndy limited New Haven to .105 attacking, while countering with .182 attacking and 21 more kills (59-38).

The match was all UIndy to start as the Chargers couldn't handle the serving of Anglemyer. She matched her career high with three aces in the first nine points to stake the Greyhounds to a nine-point lead, 10-1. The Greyhounds continued to keep New Haven at bay and led by 10, 16-6, after Anglemyer's kill forced UNH to use its last timeout. New Haven closed within five points, 21-16, but then missed a serve and UIndy took over with two Kourtney Crawford kills, including set point, around a Shelby Holland ace, the fourth of the set.

UIndy looked to maintain its control by jumping to a six-point lead, 11-5, after Anglemyer's kill in the second set. This time New Haven wouldn't go away and eventually used a 3-0 run to earn a set point, 24-23, on Bai Zhang's ace. The Greyhounds saved with a block by Crawford and Watkins and then saved another on a service error. A bad set by Kaulana Ane gave UIndy a set point, 26-25, but then Oldenburg missed the serve long after a timeout by New Haven. The Greyhounds saved one more set point, but a fourth proved too much as Bruggeman's attack went long, 29-27, to even the match.

The hangover from the second set lingered as New Haven built a 5-2 lead to start the third set and force UIndy head coach Jody Rogers to call timeout. Each team traded three point runs to keep the Hounds down, 8-5, when they regained control. Bruggeman started with a kill and teamed with Anglemyer on a block to start a 12-4 run that put the Hounds up five, 17-12, after a ball-handling error. UIndy continued to pull away to lead by eight, 24-16, and finished the match on their second set point as Bruggeman tipped a ball off the block for the kill, 25-17.

New Haven was again the better team in the early going as it built a three-point lead, 10-7. Crawford's kill ended the run and gave service to Trojan and she immediately served two aces to tie the set. UIndy kept playing well and eventually ran the streak to six points in a row to take the lead, 13-10. UIndy couldn't stretch the lead any further and New Haven took advantage with a late 3-0 run to regain the lead, 22-21.

Rogers called timeout for the Hounds and then Anglemyer took over with her four kills in a row to keep the Greyhounds alive in their pursuit of UIndy's first team national championship in school history.

Keidy Candelaria, the East Region Player of the Year, led New Haven with 10 kills and 14 digs, while Kea-Marie Olaso had a match-high 21 digs. Amber Cannady added eight kills and eight blocks for the Chargers.
