Winning streak increases to four

KISSIMMEE, Fla. --
The University of Indianapolis women's tennis team pushed its winning streak to four in a row by downing St. Michael's, 8-1, at Star Island Resort on Thursday.

The Greyhounds (6-4) started by winning all three doubles matches from the Division II Purple Knights (7-4) from Vermont. Sophomore Kasey Land and freshman Brooke Boyts pushed their winning streak to four with an 8-1 win at No. 1, followed by senior Maggie Ashby and sophomore Claire Liles teaming for the first time this season for an 8-0 win at No. 2. Freshman Kelsey Matthews and senior Meghan Teunis completed the sweep with an 8-2 win at No. 3.

Matthews and Land each won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 and No. 2 singles to set the tone for the Crimson and Grey. Taylor Eckert and Liles each didn't drop a game to win matches at No. 4 and No. 5, while Boyts accounted for the final scoring with a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 6.

The Greyhounds have a day off Friday to prepare for their trip to play at No. 17 Saint Leo on Saturday at 11 a.m.
