Greyhounds' winning streak halted by Lions

Rachel Barger earned a straight set victory at No. 6 against 17th-ranked Saint Leo.

The University of Indianapolis women's tennis team had its four-match winning streak halted on the road at No. 17 Saint Leo, 7-2, on Saturday afternoon.

The Greyhounds (6-5) fought hard against the host Lions (11-4) in picking up a pair of wins, but weren't able to secure the team victory.

Sophomores Taylor Eckert and Rachel Barger scored at No. 5 and No. 6 singles for UIndy. Eckert fought back after losing the first set to down Caroline Ebner 2-6, 6-4, (10-6), while Barger handled Samantha White 6-2, 6-0.

UIndy gets another nationally-ranked challenge on Sunday at 8 a.m. against No. 31 Augustana (S.D.) to close its Spring Break trip.
