Women's tennis shuts out KWC, 9-0

The No. 50 University of Indianapolis women's tennis team shut down Kentucky Wesleyan, 9-0, at the Executive Racquet Club on Saturday afternoon in the Bluegrass State.

Freshman Kelsey Matthews earned a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles and 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles to lead the Greyhounds (11-7, 3-2 GLVC) in their pursuit of locking down a Great Lakes Valley Conference Tennis Championships berth.

Claire Liles teamed with Matthews at No. 2 doubles and took down Hannah Butcher 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.

Freshman Brooke Boyts also swept the day with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles and 8-0 victory at No. 3 doubles. Senior Meghan Teunis closed out the sweeps with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles and teamted with Boyts in doubles.

UIndy heads to Evansville, Ind., to close out conference play on Sunday against Southern Indiana.
