INDIANAPOLIS- Fresh off winning game No. 600 at UIndy Wednesday, Head Coach Gary Vaught managed his 1000th game as the Greyhound skipper Saturday, with UIndy (27-10, 17-5 GLVC) recording a sweep of visiting Bellarmine, 4-0 and 5-4.

GAME 1  (9 inn.)
Though game two was the official 1000th game for Vaught, senior Donovan Drake made Saturday's first game a special one as well, as the Whiteland, Ind., native continued his mastery of GLVC hitters with his fifth complete game and fourth shutout of the season.

Drake allowed just five hits and two walks in nine innings.  He also struck out eight and did not permit a single Bellarmine base runner to touch third.  Drake is a perfect 6-0 versus conference opponents this year, while sporting a microscopic 0.80 ERA in league play.

Offensively, the Hounds pushed across four runs, all of which were charged to Knights starter Phil Forbis (3-3).  Catcher Nick Whitty had two hits and two runs, while first baseman Jake Hartley stroked a two-run double in the fourth.

GAME 2  (7 inn.)
The Greyhounds orchestrated a three-run second inning to take an early lead in the capper.  The frame featured five singles, including a two-run knock from shortstop Mike Page.

Later with the Hounds up 5-1, Bellamine (19-19, 11-11) came storming back with fifth-inning rally.  The Knights mustered back-to-back two-out hits, including an RBI double and two-run triple to chase starter Hugo Lalonde.

Now with the tying run at third, Vaught went to reliever Tyler Norton.  The senior lefty promptly got DH Sam Burke to foul out to right field to keep the UIndy lead entact.

Closer Chris Saroff eventually came on in the seventh to retire the final two Knights and notch his fifth save of the year, securing the victory for Lalonde (4-4).

Winner of five in a row and 11 of its last 12, No. 26 UIndy remains in town to host these same Knights for a Sunday doubleheader starting at noon.
