INDIANAPOLIS – Senior Kristina Kerrigan hit .300 with a match-high 17 kills, while junior Brittany Anglemyer hit .444 with a career-high 11 kills to lead No. 10 UIndy volleyball past Lewis, 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-11), in a rematch from last year's GLVC Tournament championship victory by the Greyhounds (8-2, 2-0 GLVC).

"Brittany is just starting to get more comfortable with Meghan (Binkerd) and the contributions she is making to the team to help us win," head coach Jody Rogers said.

Sophomore Meghan Binkerd tallied 33 assists, five digs, three kills and three blocks as she set UIndy to .297 attacking as a team against the Flyers (4-6, 1-1 GLVC).

Senior Amy Oldenburg picked up 13 digs and freshman Shelby Holland contributed a career-high 10 digs and three aces to help UIndy limit Lewis to .087 attacking. Sophomore Julia Watkins tied for match-high honors with four blocks.

"The girls served more aggressive, just like last night, which took Lewis out of system and they couldn't put the ball away," Rogers said. "We keep getting better by working hard in practice to improve on the things we need to. Today, I think our timing was better and our communication was better. Shelby stepped up and helped Amy to let her cover a smaller area of the floor, while Kim (Trojan) was really good at left back, which doesn't leave a lot of openings for the other team."

The first set started with the Flyers in control as they pulled away to a six-point lead, 15-9. Playing in front of the largest crowd of the season, the Greyhounds started to come back with a four-point run to cut the lead, 15-13, after back-to-back kills by Anglemyer. Lewis stopped the run, but then Anglemyer stepped up again with two more kills.

The second was an incredible scramble by the Hounds after Binkerd chased a dig by Oldenburg into the crowd and just flipped the ball back toward the court. Anglemyer was able to get in position and used a closed fist to punch the ball over the net for the kill against an unprepared Lewis defense. UIndy scored the next two points on Lewis errors to take their first lead, 17-16, before the Flyers finally used a timeout to try and halt the momentum.

Holland missed the serve after the timeout to tie, but Anglemyer and Kerrigan answered with kills to start an 8-2 run to end the set, 25-19, after back-to-back kills from Kourtney Crawford. UIndy finished with 19 kills to only seven for Lewis in the first set.

The Greyhounds raced to a 9-4 lead to start the second set, but Lewis was able to come back and force a trio of ties, including 15-all. The Greyhounds got a kill from Anglemyer to take the lead and get the serve to Holland as UIndy went on a 7-0 run, 22-15, to put Lewis away. Kerrigan finished the set by putting away an overpass by the Flyers.

Just as in Friday's match against Wisconsin-Parkside, the Greyhounds blitzed their opponent in the third set after giving up the first point. A kill by Kerrigan started a 13-3 run that put UIndy up 11, 13-4, after back-to-back aces from Holland. The Flyers never threatened as UIndy got a kill and block in the later stages in freshman Payton Schultz debut and the Hounds ended the match with a stuff block by Anglemyer and Kenzie Bruggeman, 25-11. UIndy hit .480 with 13 kills, while holding Lewis to nine kills.

The Flyers were led by Colleen Mitros with 12 kills and .345 attacking, but UIndy held their other senior outside, Jen Krumwiede, to -.250 attacking with one kill and six errors. Amy Choi led all players with 15 digs.

The Greyhounds return to Ruth Lilly Center Tuesday at 7 p.m. to host in-state rival Saint Joseph's (3-8, 0-2 GLVC).
