UIndy volleyball wins sixth straight match

Box Score RENSSELAER, Ind. – The 25th-ranked UIndy volleyball team defeated Saint Joseph's 3-1 in GLVC play Tuesday night (23-25, 25-10, 25-18, 25-23).

After dropping the first set, the Greyhounds (10-5, 6-1) bounced back to finish off the Pumas (4-12, 1-6 GLVC) on the road. The victory marks UIndy's sixth win in a row.

Coach Jason Reed acknowledged a large part of the Hounds' success came through blocks at the net. Five Greyhounds finished with double-digit block assists, including four from Meghan Binkerd and Payton Schultz.

Kenzie Bruggeman recorded 10 kills and 11 digs, and Hailey Brown finished with nine kills with 11 digs. Binkerd, the GLVC Offensive Player of the Week two weeks running, had 40 assists and six kills, hitting .308.

"We are doing a great job of finishing matches," said Reed. "We really show some mental fortitude when the match was getting tight."

"We served the ball well and took Saint Joseph's out of system," he continued. "We need to focus on starting well against everyone we play."

UIndy continues GLVC play this weekend at Illinois Springfield and McKendree.
