ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Greyhounds finished their trip to the CCA Division II Tip-Off Classic with an 82-73 win over Pittsburg State, in large part due to
Katy McIntosh's 26 points.
McIntosh's efficiency continues to fuel the UIndy offense, as the senior finished 6-of-10 from the floor, including 2-3 from three-point and 12-13 from the charity stripe. She also added six assists and four rebounds.
It was announced early Monday morning
Katy McIntosh earned Tournament MVP honors. She averaged 22 points, 3.6 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game.
For the second game in a row the Greyhounds (2-1) shot over 55 percent in the second half, propelling a comeback after trailing 38-34 at the break. The Gorillas (1-2) took 25 threes, hitting just eight (32 percent).
Eliza Wortman turned in her second double-digit performance of the young season, scoring 15 while grabbing eight boards and swatting three shots.
Princess German scored 13 behind 8-of-11 free throw shooting. Klly Walter added 12 points and eight rebounds for the Greyhounds.
McIntosh came into the season 151 free throws away from the all-time program mark, and she's already proven to have a nose for the three throw line just three games into the year. She's 20 for 26 so far, and in similar fashion, teammate
Princess German is 16 for 22. Â
Morgan Westhoff and Lizzy Jeronimus led the Gorillas with 23 and 20 points, respectively.
UIndy faces Lake Superior State Friday on the road.
