Hounds pummel Pumas in straight sets

INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy volleyball team dominated the St. Joseph's Pumas in the final regular season home match, 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-17).

The Greyhounds (19-9, 13-3 GLVC) were led by senior Kenzie Bruggeman, who finished with a team-high 15 kills and 14 digs – good for her 13th double-double. Her .312 attack percentage against the Pumas is a season high.

St. Joseph's (8-19, 4-12 GLVC) hit just .074 for the match, while the Hounds hit .279, including .353 in the opening set. The balanced attack was led by setter Meghan Binkerd's 40 assists. Brittany Anglemyer and Hailey Brown finished with 10 kills each. Brown also totaled 11 digs, while Kimberly Trojan had 12. Freshman Becca Lira had five kills and three total blocks (one solo, two assists).

The win is UIndy's 24th in a row over the Pumas, and the 16th sweep in that stretch. St. Joseph's hasn't beaten the Greyhounds in 13 years.

UIndy finishes regular season play this weekend on the road against Southern Indiana (22-6, 13-2 GLVC) and Bellarmine (14-11, 8-7 GLVC).
