Box Score 2 Somers, Wis. – UIndy volleyball swept their second day competition at the UW-Parkside Tournament, winning six sets in a row en route to victories over Wayne State (Mich.) (3-4) and Gannon (2-4).
The Greyhounds (4-4) opened the day with a straight set victory over Wayne State (25-22, 25-19, 25-12). UIndy totaled 11 blocks, with
Becca Lira and
Julia Watkins leading with eight and seven block assists, respectively.
Lira also produced for the UIndy offense, converting 10 kills on 14 swings for a .714 hitting percentage.
Hailey Brown continued her impressive weekend, hitting .438 for the match. Senior
Kenzie Bruggeman contributed 12 digs and a team-high 13 kills.
UIndy rolled the momentum into a second match sweep over Gannon (25-18, 25-13, 25-21), controlling throughout with a balanced attack offensively.
The 3-1 weekend moves No. 19 UIndy to 4-4 on the season. They open GLVC play Sep. 21 at Missouri S&T.
