Box Score Rolla, Mo. – The UIndy volleyball team opened GLVC play Saturday with a straight set loss to Missouri S&T (25-14, 25-21, 25-18).
The Greyhounds (4-5, 0-1 GLVC) hit just .031 on 29 kills for the match, and were outmatched in nearly every offensive statistic. Missouri S&T (5-4, 1-0) used a sizable distribution advantage (44 assists to UIndy's 29) to spread the ball around to their attackers. Five Miners finished with seven kills or more, while setter Allie Plunk finished with 39 assists.
Hailey Brown, who leads UIndy in kills and kills per set, managed just seven kills on 32 swings. Her -.031 hitting percentage marked the lowest of the season.
Senior
Kenzie Bruggeman led the Hounds with nine kills, and
Meghan Binkerd dished 25 assists. Freshman
Alyssa Garrett led defensively with 15 digs.
The Greyhounds continue GLVC competition Sunday at Drury.
