INDIANAPOLIS – Katy McIntosh's first double-double of the season helped the 14th-ranked UIndy women's basketball team right the ship in an 88-63 win over visiting Saint Joseph's College (3-11, 1-6 GLVC) in Nicoson Hall Monday night.

After an abnormally dismal offensive performance Saturday, the Greyhounds (15-3, 6-1) looked more like the GLVC's best shooting offense, matching their league-best mark by hitting 47 percent (30-63) from the floor. McIntosh dropped 14 points and dished 11 assists to record UIndy's third double-double of the season.

It was apparent out of the gate that the Hounds wanted to put Saturday in the rearview mirror, jumping out to a 15-6 lead at the first media timeout. The Pumas would answer with a short run to bring the game within three, 15-12, at the 12:52 mark.

Over the next eight-plus minutes, UIndy exploded for a 20-0 run, making it 35-12 and effectively putting the game away before halftime.

After scoring just 44 points against Southern Indiana, the Greyhounds hung 49 on the Pumas in the first half and led by 16 points at the break.

Coach Constantin Popa's typical fast-paced style of play was on display, forcing 21 Puma turnovers on defense and sprinting to a 17-2 edge in fast-break points on offense.

Dominating down low was also a large part of the Hounds' success, as they were able to control the paint on both ends of the floor. On one side, UIndy raked in 17 offensive rebounds resulting in 21 second-chance points, and outscored SJC 46-24 for points in the paint. Defensively, UIndy totaled nine blocks, led by Kirsten Gliesmann's four and Eliza Wortman's three swats.

Gliesmann stuffed the stat sheet against the Pumas, finishing with 13 points, eight rebounds and three steals. Wortman matched McIntosh with 14 points, grabbing three boards and a steal. The two forwards finished a combined 12-for-16 from the floor.

McIntosh's double-double was the fifth of her career, and her first this season. The 5-8 guard had nine assists at halftime, finishing with a season-high 11 to go along with five rebounds and three steals.

Princess German totaled 10 points and four rebounds, and Rose Savela added nine points, three rebounds and two steals.

UIndy, the GLVC's second best free throw shooting team, connected on 22 of 25 freebies (88 percent). The Greyhounds held a 39-15 advantage in bench points.

The Greyhounds head west to face Illinois Springfield (5-10, 1-6 GLVC) Thursday, and McKendree (6-8, 1-5) Saturday.
