INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy volleyball team will have its annual Dig Pink match when they host Cedarville on Tuesday, Oct. 21.

The Dig Pink campaign is part of The Side-Out Foundation, which was created in 2004 to "unite volleyball players and coaches and to have them work toward the common goal of furthering breast cancer awareness, education and patient services."

Side-Out contributes the funds raised through its Dig Pink matches to organizations that serve breast cancer patients, which includes research, medical services and patient support.

After raising $1,244 last season, the Greyhounds have a goal of $1,500 this October, and will accept donations through the entire month.

"We are excited to be part of The Side-Out Foundation and its Dig Pink® campaign," the UIndy volleyball coaching staff writes. "We believe education is key to increasing knowledge about the disease and fundraising is essential to support further research. The players, coaches, parents, volunteers, spectators and survivors can look forward to a special evening. Join us on Dig Pink night, and if you are able to attend, please wear something pink!"
