Meghan Binkerd were each named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Region First Team, the association announced Wednesday.
Brown - an All-GLVC and Daktronics All-Midwest first team selection - earned a spot on the AVCA's All-Region team for the first time in her career. The Medora, Ind., native is third in the conference and 52nd nationally with 3.67 kills per set (as of Nov. 25), and finished 2014 with double-digit kills in all but three matches played, including 12 matches with 15 or more. Brown was also fourth on the team with 301 digs and 2.89 digs/set, and had 14 kill-dig double-doubles.
The honor is Binkerd's third from the AVCA over her proflific Greyhound career. UIndy's all-time assist leader and All-GLVC first teamer finished the season second in the GLVC and 22nd in Division II with 11.18 assists per set (as of Nov. 25). She notched 19 assist/kill double-doubles and has totaled 40 or more assists 14 times this year. Binkerd also contributed 3.03 digs, 1.11 kills and 0.37 blocks per set.
