INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy volleyball team dropped visiting Missouri S&T 3-0 (25-13, 27-25, 25-13) Sunday in the Ruth Lilly Center, completing the Hounds' home opening weekend with another sweep.

Senior Meghan Binkerd dished a season-high 42 assists in the win, setting up the UIndy hitters for 52 team kills on 118 swings for a sharp .322 team hitting percentage (14 errors). The Miners (2-5, 1-1 GLVC) managed just a .096 hitting percentage behind 29 kills, 18 errors and 115 attempts.

Binkerd's distribution allowed three Greyhounds (3-4, 2-0 GLVC) to finish with double-digit kills, led by junior Hailey Brown's 15 on .324 hitting (15-3-37).

Redshirt-sophomore Hannah Bauer set a career-high with 11 kills, surpassing her previous high with six kills in the first set. The Roncalli product was forced to sit the entire 2013 season due to injury, but found a groove Sunday hitting .467 (11-1-21) from the right side.

Lynsey Hazelwood capped a remarkable weekend with 10 kills and eight digs against S&T, totaling 29 kills and 15 digs over the Hounds' two sweeps.
UIndy also had an even distribution defensively, as Arielle Knafel (17), Brown (14) and Binkerd (11) all finished with double figure digs.

The Hounds cruised in the opening set, hitting .447 (18-1-38) to the Miners' .038 (8-6-38), and were led by Bauer's six kills.

The second set proved a little tougher for the Greyhounds, who went point-for-point with S&T until the teams were knotted at 25 apiece. The Miners put UIndy on set-point twice, but the resilient Hounds fought back to capture the extended set.

Missouri S&T jumped out to a quick lead in the third set, holding an 8-5 edge early, but UIndy answered with a 20-6 tear to take the set and match.

The Crimson and Grey next visit William Jewell Saturday at 5 p.m. (ET) and Rockhurst Sunday at 1 p.m.
