Box Score LIBERTY, Mo. – UIndy volleyball completed its third consecutive sweep with a 3-0 (25-6, 25-13, 25-18) victory at William Jewell Saturday.
The Greyhounds (4-4, 3-0 GLVC) cruised in the opening set, 25-6, winning by the largest margin of any single set this season. UIndy hit a scorching .522 (13-1-23) compared to William Jewell's -.043 (4-5-23), and had five finish the frame with multiple kills.Â
The squads went back-and-forth to open the second, but the Hounds eventually ran away with the set, 25-13. In the decisive third set, the Hounds fended off William Jewell (1-8, 0-3 GLVC) to the tune of a 25-18 win, hitting .417 (18-3-36).
"We played a very good match today against a scrappy William Jewell team," Head Coach
Jason Reed said following the win. "I thought we did a great job of putting pressure on their hitters and playing our game."
Hailey Brown paced UIndy with 15 kills, nearly eclipsing her career-high with a .538 attack percentage.
Meghan Binkerd totaled 35 assists and 12 digs, and
Kimberly Trojan led the Hounds with 16 digs.
Hannah Bauer finished with eight kills on 16 swings, and
Kacee Salyers tallied six kills on 12 swings.
UIndy faces Rockhurst Sunday at 2 p.m. (ET) with a chance to remain perfect in the GLVC.
