Saturday sweep over Southern Indiana ends the Greyhounds' road swing

Box Score

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Greyhound volleyball squad won another 3-0 decision, this one against the University of Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles.

The Greyhounds (6-5, 5-1 GLVC) had to dig from a six-point hole early in the opening set, fighting to turn a 12-6 deficit into a 15-14 lead. UIndy didn't trail the rest of the way, narrowly taking the first game 25-22 over USI (7-4, 3-3 GLVC).

They parlayed that momentum into the second frame, jumping out to a 12-4 lead. UIndy went on to win the set 25-17, hitting .333 (12-2-30) as a team.

The third and final set score matched the second, with UIndy slamming the door 25-17 to secure the sixth 3-0 decision of the season.

UIndy's efficiency on offense allowed five separate Hounds to finish with five or more kills, led by Hailey Brown's 12, followed by Julia Watkins' and Lynsey Hazelwood's eight apiece. Becca Lira and Hannah Bauer each had six kills.

Meghan Binkerd facilitated that attack with 36 assists to go along with five digs and three kills of her own.

Kimberly Trojan tallied a team-high 17 digs, followed by Hazelwood (nine digs), Lira (nine), Brown (eight) and Arielle Knafel (eight).

The Greyhounds return to the Ruth Lilly Center Tuesday to host Saint Joseph's (3-9, 1-5 GLVC) at 7 p.m. ET.
