Photo GalleryINDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy swimming and diving teams held their final home event of the season Saturday afternoon, celebrating their annual Senior Meet with a combined four wins. Aided by the teams' 11 seniors, both the UIndy men and women defeated Washington University (Mo.) and fellow-GLVC-member Lewis in double-dual action.

UIndy's seniors combined for 11 event wins, including four from
Justin Rossillo and three from
Daniel Chan. The two were joined by fellow-senior
Doron Benjamin and sophomore
Steve Wascom in the victorious 200 medley relay team, while Rossillo and Benjamin, as well as senior
Aaron Stevenson and junior
Marius Bornkessel, helped the 200 free relay team to a winning B-cut time of 1:23.54.
Rossillo also took both the 50 and 100 free, with his time of 45.78 in the latter sprint good for another B-cut. Chan won individual gold in the 200 butterfly and 200 breaststroke.

Sophomore
Agnieszka Malecka racked up four wins to lead the women. She swam the first leg of the winning 200 medley relay team, and went on to touch first in the 100 back, 200 back and 200 IM.

Junior
Hannah Schuster anchored the aforementioned 200 medley relay before winning the 50 and 100 free. She nipped senior
Hayley Good by one one-hundredth of the second in the 100 – 54.57 to 54.58.

Senior
Tyler Offutt had a stellar performance in the 1-meter board, amassing an A-cut point total of 337.85. He also won the 3-meter competition (274.85), while
Natelie Todd took the women's 3-meter (220.20).

"Every year I think it is amazing that the seniors truly understand what team unity is on this final home competition," said head coach
Gary Kinkead after his 21st Senior Meet at UIndy. "I really hope that the freshmen learn from this group and understand that this needs to be an everyday thing. It is a process, not an end.
Â
"But the end is near for the seniors, and honestly, I think that most of them might wish they had the last three-and-a-half years back to do over again and build upon what they felt today. I think that regret is a big part of the emotion on this final meet of their college careers. I hope the freshmen build upon the fire, energy and determination that these seniors displayed on their final home competition."

The Greyhounds have two-and-a-half weeks to prepare for the GLVC Championships, held Feb. 11-14 at the Crawfordsville Aquatic Center in Crawfordsville, Ind. Last season, the UIndy men were runners-up at the conference meet while the women took third.
