AURORA, Ill. - UIndy volleyball travels this weekend to the eighth annual Mizuno Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover Tournament in Aurora, Illinois, Oct. 16-17. Along with the entire Great Lakes Valley Conference and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, this will be the first season the crossover features programs from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
The Greyhounds' three competitions all come against GLIAC members, beginning with a 12:30 p.m. ET match against Ashland (12-5, 7-2 GLIAC) Friday. The Eagles are familiar opponents, having already faced the Hounds twice this season. Ashland won
3-1 when the teams first met at the Tony Banner Memorial Tournament in Clarion, Pa. The Eagles then defeated UIndy
3-0 during the Hounds' tournament in Nicoson Hall the following weekend.
UIndy then faces No. 23 Grand Valley State (11-6, 7-2) Friday at 6:30 p.m. The Greyhounds haven't faced the Lakers since 2010, and are 0-8 all-time against the annual GLIAC contender.
Finally, the Hounds wrap up Saturday with 2 p.m. match against the Tiffin Dragons (8-7, 5-4). The Hounds are 5-0 all-time against the Dragons, having won most recently back in 2010.
The Hounds are 14-7 all-time at the Crossover, including two perfect 3-0 weekends (2009, 2010). UIndy's complete Crossover history is below:
