GLVC Announces GLVCSN.com as New Home of GLVC Sports Network

INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced Tuesday a new streaming and social media home for its GLVC Sports Network (GLVCSN) with the launch of GLVCSN.com and @GLVCSN Twitter account.

GLVCSN.com was developed by the Conference office through a partnership with BlueFrame Technology and Volucast, and will now serve as the official athletics streaming website of the GLVC and its 16 member institutions.

Streamed video content had been displayed on each member institution's website over the past two years, but now shifts to one user-friendly website that will enhance both the GLVC and member school brands and create more attractive sponsorship opportunities for the league's current and future partners.

"The creation of the new GLVCSN website is yet another significant advancement for the league as we continue to grow our digital platform," said GLVC Commissioner Jim Naumovich.  "This site will provide a unique opportunity for students, parents, fans, and alumni across the country and all over the world to access GLVC regular season and conference championship contests that are streamed throughout the course of the year by our 16 member institutions and the league office.  This latest development is part of our ongoing evolution and commitment to being a leader in NCAA Division II by showcasing our talented student-athletes for all to see."

BlueFrame Technology representatives have been involved with the GLVC since the inception of GLVCSN in 2014, as league members have used the company's proprietary streaming software, Production Truck.

"BlueFrame is thrilled to be partnering with the GLVC and its members," said Ben Kant, BlueFrame Technology co-founder and CEO.  "The GLVC's commitment to highlighting the academic and athletic success of its student-athletes through video provides BlueFrame an ideal use case to showcase our digital network services."

Volucast will assist the GLVC in strategically positioning GLVCSN before a new audience as the Wilmington, North Carolina based company specializes in website and app development, digital monetization, and linear channel distribution.

"Volucast is excited to partner with the Great Lakes Valley Conference as a technology and distribution provider," said Jack Pennington, Volucast Vice President of Strategic Development.  "We believe GLVCSN.com allows the GLVC the opportunity to keep its alumni and fans engaged with live and on-demand video content."

Volucast will continue to support the GLVC in streaming its extensive sports content on a mobile platform as they are currently in production of the GLVC mobile apps.  The GLVC also hopes to leverage Volucast's worldwide distribution relationships to provide the league with an enhanced global presence.

Over the course of the last three years, GLVCSN has experienced steady growth.  In addition to increased brand awareness for the GLVC and its 16 member institutions, GLVCSN has also served as a platform to showcase several of the league's partners to its regional, national and international audience made up of more than 6,000 GLVC student-athletes, 50,000 students and 500,000 alumni worldwide.

Since 2014, the Conference office streamed all 38 GLVC Championships while a total of 2,653 events across 16 of the league's 21 sports were streamed on campus, including baseball (511 events), men's basketball (452), women's basketball (401), softball (391), women's volleyball (314), women's soccer (217), men's soccer (204), and football (70). A focus was placed on men's and women's basketball coverage for the 2015-16 season, while an emphasis on women's volleyball and football will be the target for the 2016-17 campaign. Baseball, softball and soccer will become the focus sports for the 2017-18 academic season.

After officially launching on Nov. 5, 2014, the GLVCSN dedicated its first-year efforts to streaming all 19 GLVC Championships, while encouraging its 16 member institutions to begin streaming events on campus, with no sport coverage requirements put forth.

For the 2014-15 championship season, GLVCSN streamed 210 hours of live coverage over 96 events, and schools produced 1,063 broadcasts across 15 sports.  This past year, GLVC Championship coverage was enhanced by an additional 41 hours of coverage over 91 events, while school coverage increased by 125 to 1,188 events across 16 sports.

Furthermore, GLVCSN extended its reach across campus in 2015-16.  The league began integrating academic programming within its GLVC Championship coverage, engaged presidents, chancellors, faculty members and the student body in GLVCSN operations, and expanded its popular Extra Credit initiative, which allows students from Conference schools with interest in broadcasting, production, design, print and social media to oversee all aspects of GLVCSN coverage.

General information regarding the GLVC can still be found at GLVCsports.com and a variety of social media platforms, including @GLVCsports on Twitter.
