INDIANAPOLIS – UIndy Director of Athletics
Kim Pate announced the addition of Andrew Stafford to the UIndy Athletics staff as the Deputy A.D. for Internal Operations / Compliance. An experienced athletics administrator, Stafford brings a diverse background in NCAA compliance, student-athlete development, and athletic administration.
"First, I want to thank President Tanuja Singh and Athletic Director
Kim Pate for their confidence in me and for the opportunity to contribute to this outstanding institution," said Stafford. "It is a privilege to join the University of Indianapolis and support its exceptional sport programs and transformational student-athlete experiences.
"I'm excited to help craft innovative strategies that sustain UIndy at the pinnacle of Division II and establish best practices across the college athletics landscape. My wife, Casey, and I are thrilled to join the Greyhound family. Go Hounds!"
Stafford comes to UIndy after spending three years as the Assistant A.D. for Compliance at fellow-DII-institution Lenoir-Rhyne. At LR, he oversaw the Office of Athletics Compliance for over 700 student-athletes across 27 NCAA and club sports. He ran rules education programming for coaches and staff, revamped and improved departmental processes, and managed a multi-million-dollar scholarship budget, all while serving as a liaison to university groups such as Academic Affairs, Admissions, and Financial Aid.
"I am thrilled to announce the addition of Andrew Stafford to our senior leadership team as the Deputy AD for Internal Operations / Compliance," said University of Indianapolis Director of Intercollegiate Athletics
Kim Pate. "Andrew is an incredibly talented and dynamic administrator who brings a wealth of experience in NCAA compliance and student-athlete development.Â
"I had the distinct privilege of working alongside Andrew in a similar capacity during our time at Lenoir-Rhyne, where his contributions positioned our compliance operations among the best in Division II. He is a highly talented, thoughtful, and dynamic administrator, and I am excited about the immediate impact he will have on Greyhound Athletics as we continue to elevate our commitment to excellence and provide a 'Best in Class' experience for our student-athletes."
Before transitioning to Lenior-Rhyne, Stafford spent two years at Elon as Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Services. In that capacity, he designed and implemented personal and professional development programming for over 400 student-athletes across 17 sports. He advised the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), launched a financial literacy curriculum, created two for-credit leadership development courses, and facilitated Title IX and gender violence prevention education for staff and athletes.
Stafford earned his Master of Science in Sport and Recreation Leadership from James Madison University in 2019 while working for the JMU football program under former head coaches Mike Houston and Curt Cignetti. He served as Assistant to the Head Coach following a successful stint as an operations and recruiting intern.
A 2015 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Stafford holds a bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sport Science with a concentration in Sports Administration.
