GREENWOOD, Ind. –
UIndy men's soccer picked up a prestigious award Wednesday afternoon, as senior defender
Josh Mahon was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® Second Team. Voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
Mahon, a senior mechanical engineering major from Fort Wayne, Ind., carries a 3.84 GPA. He closed out his Greyhound career with seven career goals, five of them coming this year. He was named to the All-GLVC First Team and the All-Midwest Region First Team last month.
Mahon is the first Greyhound men's soccer player to be named to Academic All-America list since Ryan Barnett in 2012. Mahon is the lone GLVC representative named to any of the Academic All-America teams. He becomes UIndy's 90 Academic All-America® honoree in its history, good for seventh all-time among Division II institutions.
