Undefeated Hounds Host Hawks Saturday Night

Quincy Hawks vs.
10 UIndy Greyhounds

Saturday, Oct. 12, 6 p.m. ET, Key Stadium

ON TAP
The 10th-ranked and undefeated UIndy football team puts its win streak on the line when it hosts the Quincy Hawks at Key Stadium Saturday night. The match-up marks the first of four homes games in a five-game stretch.

KEY TO SUCCESS
Few programs can match UIndy's recent success at home. The Greyhounds own a stellar 39-4 (.907) record at Key Stadium since 2012, including an even more impressive 27-1 (.964) mark at home versus GLVC opponents. UIndy has not lost a contest at home in conference play since the 2014 finale against William Jewell – a span of 16 games.

ABOUT QUINCY
The Hawks started the season with wins against former GLVC-foes Central State and Kentucky Wesleyan but have since dropped three in a row heading into this week. They gave up 63 points at home to Truman before falling in a close road meeting at Missouri S&T last Saturday, 21-13.

Senior special teamer Nathan Kewney leads the GLVC in punting at 42.8 yards per attempts, while sophomore linebacker Peyton Chappel is one of only three players in a league averaging double digits in tackles (10.0).

HOUNDS vs. HAWKS
UIndy has won six of the seven all-time meetings with Quincy since their first match-up in 2012. Last season, UIndy held the Hawks scoreless for the final three quarters on the way to a 35-7 road win. Toriano Clinton and Al McKeller combined for 31 carries for 179 yards and two touchdowns to led the Hounds offensively. See page 10 for a complete box score.

The last time the Hawks visited Key Stadium, the Hounds handed them a 55-0 shutout loss back in 2017.

LAST TIME OUT
UIndy continued its string of decisive wins, earning a lopsided 59-7 road victory at William Jewell last weekend. The Greyhounds scored the game's first 42 points for the third straight week while ultimately limiting the Cardinals to -22 rushing yards. See page 11 for a complete box score.

KNOCK, KNOCK
UIndy is on the doorstep of a major GLVC milestone, as a win against the Hawks Saturday would make 22 consecutive conference victories for the Hounds. That outcome would match a league record, one set by the Greyhounds between 2012-14.

TOP 10 PROGRAM
UIndy continued its ascent of the AFCA Division II Coaches Poll, moving up in the rankings for the fifth straight week. Its current ranking of 10th is the team's highest position since it was ranked No. 6 in November of 2017. It also matches the program's highest-ever ranking outside of the historic 2017 season.

Furthermore, the Greyhounds made their 31st straight appearance in the coaches' top 25, upping their own program record for consecutive weeks spent in the national rankings.

D-FENSE, D-FENSE
Run by first-year defensive coordinator Tim Cooper, the Greyhound defense has stifled opposing offenses so far this season. The Hounds rank sixth in the nation in rushing defense (61.4 ypg), seventh in scoring defense (12.8 ppg), 19th in third-down conversion defense (.278) and 21st in total defense (278.2 ypg).

GETTING OFFENSIVE
Not to be outdone, the UIndy offensive and special teams players can stake claim to a number of lofty spots in the national rankings. Junior running back Al McKeller ranks third in of all Division II in rushing TDs (9) and 19th in rushing yards (501), senior QB TJ Edwards ranks third in passing efficiency (194.7),  while junior Daveon Bell is sixth in punt return average (16.4) and sophomore Toriano Clinton is 11th in kickoff return average (30.0).

RECORD WATCH
Revisiting what has become a weekly feature, Al McKeller has amassed impressive numbers is his time as a Hound. The hometown product and 2018 GLVC Offensive Player of the Year is just two-and-a-half years into his collegiate career and is already among the school's career leaders in rushing yards and rushing TDs. He is within striking distance of both school records in just his junior season (see below) and is looking to become the first-ever Greyhound with three 1,000-yard-rushing seasons.
