INDIANAPOLIS – UIndy student-athlete Daveon Bell was voted GLVC Special Teams Player of the Week, announced by league officials Monday. The junior receiver/punt returner racked up 225 all-purpose yards in the Greyhounds' 59-19 home win against Quincy Saturday.
 
A graduate of local Lawrence Central High School, Bell amassed 139 punt return yards on five attempts versus the visiting Hawks, including an 81-yard return for a touchdown in the second quarter. The score was good for his third career punt return TD, tying the school record. He also moved into second on the UIndy career punt return yardage list with 726.
 
Bell also had four receptions for 86 yards on the way to his third straight game with 170-plus all-purpose yards. His season average of 19.4 yards per punt return leads the GLVC and ranks third in all of Division II.
