INDIANAPOLIS – For the first time in her UIndy career, senior backstroker
Edda Skoric was awarded the PNC GLVC Women's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week on Wednesday. Skoric collected multiple wins during a heavy top 25 weekend, as the teams were in O'Fallon, IL last Friday and St. Peters, MO on the following Saturday.
Before the mid-season mark, Skoric has dominated the young season with her teammates in multiple NCAA events. Skoric took home five wins total over the weekend, three in O'Fallon and two in St. Peters. Out of the five victories, two of them came in the 100 backstroke, where she had final times of 57.81 and 57.11, respectively. Her other three wins came from the 200 back (2:02.64), the 400 medley relay (3:49.72; 57.34 backstroke split) and the 200 free relay (1:34.27; 23.7 split). Skoric's 200 backstroke also qualified as an NCAA DII B-cut standard.
The weekly honor is the second consecutive award for a UIndy female this season, as
Marizel van Jaarsveld was awarded it last week.
