INDIANAPOLIS – UIndy volleyball senior setter
Alyssa Spears earned the final GLVC Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season, the league announced on Monday.
Â
It is Spears' second career nod, with both coming this season.
Â
The Heltonville, Ind., native averaged 13.1 assists/set in two Greyhound wins to close out the regular season this past weekend. Spears handed out 56 helpers against Drury on Saturday, the second most this season for the senior. Spears also recorded 18 digs against the Panthers to tally her 10th double-double of the season.
Â
Spears added six kills, two blocks and service aces to her stat line.
Â
The senior surpassed 3,000 UIndy career assists over the weekend, and ranks sixth in program history for the category. Spears is just 37 helpers from reaching 4,000 career, as she totaled 940 as a freshman at St. Joseph's College in 2016.
Â
Spears and the Greyhounds battle Drury this Friday evening in a GLVC Championship Tournament quarterfinal.
