McKeller Dubbed AP All-America

INDIANAPOLIS – Postseason awards continued to trickle in for UIndy football standout Al McKeller. The junior running back was honored by The Associated Press this week by being named to its Division II All-America Second Team. The award, presented by Regions Bank, was selected by a panel of sports information directors and the AP.

The entire list included just four running backs – two on the first team and two on the second (see below). McKeller earned inclusion after topping the Great Lakes Valley Conference in rushing yards (1,124) and rushing touchdowns (17). The Indianapolis native also broke UIndy and GLVC records for career rushing TDs in just his third collegiate season, while becoming the first rusher in school history with three 1,000-yard seasons to his credit.

McKeller was the focal point of a UIndy attack that shattered program records for scoring offense (47 points per game) and total offense (507 yards per game) on the way to a program-first third consecutive playoff berth.
