WACO, Texas – The UIndy football team grabbed the No. 17 position in the year's final AFCA Division II Coaches' Top 25 Poll, released Monday. The announcement marked the fourth time in the last five years that the Greyhounds finished the season ranked in the top 20.
Â
Led by first-year head coach
Chris Keevers, UIndy racked up nine wins in 10 regular-season games on the way to an NCAA DII playoff appearance. The Hounds finished the season at 9-2 after a 37-27 loss at Central Missouri in the first round of DII Super Region Four bracket.
Â
National-champion West Florida earned the No. 1 spot this season after defeating each of the other eventual top-five teams in its playoff run. SR4-champ Ferris State came in at No. 3.
The Greyhounds have appeared in the coaches' top 25 in each of the last 38 weeks, good for a program record. UIndy's highest final AFCA ranking came last December with a No. 11 tag.
