INDIANAPOLIS- Freshman Anna Novikova earned her first career Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week honor for #2 UIndy Women's Tennis, announced Tuesday by the league office.

Novikova surrendered just one set in her lone match of the week versus McKendree's Hailey Waguespack at No. 3 singles, winning 6-1, 6-0.  The Greyhound freshman also partnered with Nikol Alexeeva at No. 1 doubles for a  6-3 win against Waguespack and Steffany Bermudez. The duo is currently ranked #4 in NCAA Division II on the doubles court. 

This is Novikova's first career GLVC honor. The last Greyhound to be named GLVC Player of the Week was Hanna Volikova, who earned the honor Feb. 12. UIndy continues GLVC play  this weekend, hosting Bellarmine at Center Grove HS at 11 a.m. Saturday.
