UIndy Football Welcomes Coach Tim Cooper

INDIANAPOLIS –The UIndy football coaching staff experienced some recent turnover with the announcement of the Head Coach Bob Bartolomeo's retirement. Enter Chris Keevers. The long-time Greyhound assistant was promoted to the "big chair" shortly after Coach Bart's departure, and with a hole in is staff, the former UIndy defensive coordinator looked to veteran football coach Tim Cooper.

Cooper joined the UIndy staff over the winter and brought with him a wealth of experience. The DePauw and Indiana State grad took over as the Greyhounds' DC as well as the defensive backs coach.

Cooper returned to the Hoosier State after spending the previous two seasons at the University of Pittsburgh as the defensive quality control coach. There he worked with the DBs and linebackers while helping the Panthers to the 2018 ACC championship and an appearance in 2018 Sun Bowl.

Prior to that, Cooper spent eight years as the DC at crosstown Butler University. He helped the Bulldogs to a pair of Pioneer Football League titles, with his defense consistently ranking in the top 20 in FCS.

Cooper also spent time as a Quality Control Coach at Indiana University (2009) after working six seasons on the staff at Miami University (2003-08).
