INDIANAPOLIS – After historic seasons that featured the women in the NCAA national semifinals and the men placing themselves in the Sweet 16, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association placed the women #4 and the men at #19, released on Wednesday. The women jumped up two spots from their previous #6 ranking, while the men held strong in the same rank.
Both Greyhound teams concluded a fantastic season, as the women reached either teams' highest ranking of all-time at #2 in March. The men reached the Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament for the second year in a row, a fourth appearance in the last five years.
Individually,
Nikol Alexeeva concluded her freshman campaign at #9 in single, climbing one spot from the previous poll.
Hanna Volikova finished her UIndy career soaring up nine spots, finishing right behind her teammate at #10. The two would also be featured in the doubles rankings, where they jumped two spots to claim the #4 spot in the final ranking.
Renato Lima led the way for the men, as he finished #12 overall in the final rankings individually.
Nils Hoffacker finished his campaign at Indianapolis moving up the ladder, finishing at the #35 spot on the charts. Two other Greyhounds would be presented in the final doubles rankings, as
Matej Kostadinov and
Dario Huber ended the season with the #13 spot in the rankings.
