University of Indianapolis student-athlete
Toriano Clinton was voted to the recently-released 2019
College Football America Yearbook Division II Preseason Starting Lineup. The incoming-sophomore earned the lone kickoff returner spot on the list, which is essentially CFAY's version of a preseason All-America team.
Â
Clinton is coming off a stellar rookie campaign in 2018, one that saw the Calumet, Ill., product pick up GLVC Freshman of the Year honors. He represented a dual threat for the Greyhounds, leading the nation in kickoff return average (37.9) while nearly doing the same in rushing yards per attempt (8.3) after just missing the NCAA's minimum qualification of 10 carries per game.
Â
Clinton led the team with 13 total touchdowns, including three kickoff return TDs. He also racked up 898 rushing yards and 1,482 all-purpose yards. He is one of only two GLVC players on the
CFAY Starting Lineup, as conference-newcomer Lindenwood University placed tight end Erik Henneman on the list.
