INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy women's basketball team announced their 2019-20 schedule Tuesday afternoon. The Greyhounds are coming off a year where they improved their win total from the year before and return two all-GLVC selections in Laura Thomas and Emma Benoit.
 
The Greyhounds open their exhibition slate here in Indianapolis when they make the 12 mile trip north to Butler to face the Bulldogs on November 2nd. A week later, the Hounds will open the regular season in northern Michigan, facing Alderson Broaddus and Malone before their home opener against Davenport on November 15th. UIndy dives into the GLVC portion of their schedule when Bellarmine makes their final trip to Nicoson Hall on December 3rd.
 
Outside of Thomas and Benoit, the Greyhounds return four other players who started double-digit games last season. Taylor Drury, Claire Carlton, Shira and Mickey Sasson all return for fourth-year head coach Kristin Wodrich and while Mya Scheidt, Liz Alsot, and Taylor Dillard bring experience off the bench as well.
 
"We are looking forward to this year," said coach Wodrich. "We play seven in-region games in the non-conference which we are excited about as well as an exhibition game across town at Butler University to begin the year. Playing in Hinkle Fieldhouse will be a great experience for our girls. Our goal every year is to have a non-conference schedule that will help prepare us for the GLVC which is a great league to be a part of."
