GREENWOOD, Ind.- The UIndy women's tennis team opened its fall season by hosting a fall invitational at Center Grove High School Saturday and Sunday. The Greyhounds posted 31 total wins on the weekend, including a perfect 12-0 mark on the doubles courts.
The 2019 ITA All-American duo of
Nikol Alekseeva and
Anna Novikova picked up where they left off last year, going 3-0 on the weekend. The pair took a 6-1 win over DePauw, a 6-0 win against Butler and a 6-4 win versus IUPUI.
Chloe Weihs and
Anna Valiaeva also went 3-0, counting wins against Butler and two DePauw duos.
Maja Pindelska and Greyhound rookie
Lizaveta Demchenko also went 3-0 in their debut, with wins over DePauw, Butler and IUPUI, while
Alina Kislitskaya and freshman Hound Sofia Solnyshkina also went 3-0 with wins over DePauw, Butler and IUPUI.
On the singles court, Alekseeva surrendered just five total games in three wins, while Kistlitskaya also won three matches and gave up just five games in her victories. Valiaeva, Pindelska, Weihs and Solnyshkina all also went 3-0, while Novikova and Demchenko went 2-1 in singles.
The Greyhounds look next to the ITA Midwest Regional, Sept. 20-22 in Grand Rapids, Mich.
