As part of our coverage in these unprecedented times, UIndyAthletics.com will revisit some of the biggest moments in recent UIndy history with its new feature: Greyhound Flashback. Today, we take a look at former men's swimmer Dalton Herendeen and his top-10 performances at the 2016 Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

After competing in his first Paralympics at the 2012 London games, former men's swimmer Dalton Herendeen qualified for his second straight Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro. Ending the 2015 World Championships with three top-10 finishes, Herendeen looked for similar results on the grand stage.

Herendeen achieved top-eight finishes in three different events at the 2016 games, including a fourth-place finish in the men's SB8 100 breast, reaching his first top-five finish at the Paralympics by .64 seconds. His other two top finishes were in relays, taking part in the men's 400 free and 400 medley relays. Both relays ended sixth in their respected events, helping Team USA garner a top-four finish in swimming.

American Paralympians totaled 37 medals at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro games, winning 14 gold, 14 silver and nine bronze. Team USA finished ahead of Australia by eight total medals, but ended behind Great Britain by 10. The United States overall ended the 2016 Paralympics with 115 medals; 40 gold, 44 silver and 31 bronze. The US bested Australia for fourth overall, but full short behind Ukraine's third-place finish at 117 medals.
