INDIANAPOLIS – UIndy softball student-athlete
Frankie Kontor was selected as her team's GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award winner, as announced by league officials. The junior outfielder was one of 16 individuals – one from each conference school – to garner recognition Tuesday in the sport of softball.
These representatives were chosen by their respective coaches to have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior this season. They must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.
The honorees are now eligible to become one of their school's two overall James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced on Monday, May 18.
