LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Led by Head Coach
Melissa Frost, the UIndy softball coaches were voted the 2026 ATEC/NFCA Division II Midwest Region Coaching Staff of the Year, as selected by the region's coaches. The honor marks the seventh time in the last 15 years that Frost and Co., were named the Midwest's top staff.

Faith Muterspaugh guided the Greyhounds during an historic 2026 campaign. The Hounds rolled through the GLVC with an amazing 27-1 record in conference play, capturing the league's regular season title and setting a new school record GLVC winning percentage of .964. They went on to hit the 50-win mark for sixth time in program history, doing it for the first time ever in the regular season. The team also set a program first with a fourth consecutive Super Regional appearance before finishing with a 59-7 (.894) overall mark.
UIndy spent the entire 2026 season ranked in the NFCA/GoRout DII Top 25 Coaches Poll, including spending the final nine weeks in the top 10 and topping out at No. 2. Frost was named GLVC Coach of the Year for the ninth time while the Hounds upped their impressive streak of NCAA regional berths to 18 in a row.
