16 UIndy Programs Earn GEICO Team Academic All-GLVC Honors

INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Lakes Valley Conference began its awards week with a record-setting announcement of 207 league programs earning GEICO Team Academic All-GLVC honors, announced Monday. Among the 17 members eligible, UIndy ranked second in the conference with 16 programs to record a 3.30 GPA or higher during the 2019-20 academic year.

The UIndy women's tennis team led all Greyhound programs with a 3.85 GPA in 2019-20, which ranks fourth in the conference. Men's tennis (3.83), women's cross country (3.79), softball (3.72) and women's golf (3.71) round out the top five for UIndy, while volleyball (3.69), women's swimming and diving (3.67), women's soccer (3.62), women's track and field (3.61) and men's golf (3.51) close the top 10. 

Women's basketball (3.49), men's swimming and diving (3.39) and men's cross country (3.38) appear on the list once again for the Greyhound athletics department, with men's soccer (3.42), women's lacrosse (3.41) and wrestling (3.30), growing the total number to 16 for UIndy. 

Maryville led all GLVC institutions with 17 programs earning the distinction, while McKendree tied UIndy with 16 team accolades. Drury and Lewis each had 15 and Bellarmine and league-newcomer Lindenwood each tallied 14.
