INDIANAPOLIS – Twenty-three UIndy student-athletes were recognized by the Great Lakes Valley Conference Thursday as recipients of the GLVC Council of Presidents' Academic Excellence Award. All 23 exhausted their athletic eligibility while maintaining at a 3.5 cumulative GPA, including senior swimmer
Darian Murray, who was the only Greyhound to graduate this spring with a perfect 4.0.
Â
Of the record-setting 420 honorees across the conference this year, Murray was one of just sixteen student-athletes to conclude her collegiate career with an unblemished cumulative GPA.
Â
As for UIndy specifically, the Hounds' 23 award winners (see below) came from 12 different programs, with no one team tallying more than three honorees. In addition to exhausting athletic eligibility in their primary sport, all student-athletes must have competed in the GLVC for a minimum of two years and completed 96 credit hours.
