NEW ORLEANS – UIndy standout Lauren Bailey picked up a pair of accolades Wednesday, runner GLVC Runner of the Week honors while also becoming the first-ever Greyhound to garner USTFCCCA  Division II National Athlete of the Week during the cross country season. The Westfield, Ind., product opened up her senior season in dominating fashion, winning the GLVC Triangular last Friday by nearly a full minute.
 
Bailey, an All-America honoree last fall, set a personal best in the 5K race with a time of 17:01.7, easily topping runner-up Jennifer Comastri of Southern Indiana. The former will lead the Greyhounds at the upcoming GLVC East Division race on Oct. 10, where the top four teams will later meet the best of the West in the A-race of the GLVC Championships Oct. 24.
