The Greyhounds wrap up the first half of the 2020-21 schedule this week with a pair of road contests against GLVC Tournament hopefuls. UIndy heads to Illinois Springfield Tuesday night, followed by a Saturday afternoon matchup with Lewis.

ROAD WARRIORS
This week's action will close a remarkable stretch of road dates for the Greyhounds. Saturday's meeting at Lewis will mark UIndy's seventh road contest in an eight-game span. Seven of UIndy's remaining 11 matchups will take place in Nicoson Hall.

ABOUT ILLINOIS SPRINGFIELD
The Prairie Stars come into the week at 5-4 after having a three-game win streak snapped at Missouri-St. Louis over the weekend. They are led by sophomore guard Chase Robinson, who ranks third in the GLVC at 20.6 points per game. Freshman forward Jack Weber tops the league in field goal percentage (.656), while 6-3 guard Keymonta Johnson leads the team in both rebounding (6.7 rpg) and blocks (1.4 bpg).

HOUNDS vs. STARS
UIndy owns a 9-3 advantage in the all-time series, but it was the Prairie Stars that have won the last two contests and three of the last four. Last February, UIS pulled off an 89-86 overtime win in Springfield, hitting a game-tying 3 on their final possession of regulation before knocking down clutch free throws late in OT to seal the win.

ABOUT LEWIS
Despite dropping games to UIS and Missouri-St. Louis last week, the Flyers come into the week ranked third in the GLVC Point Rating System. Through its first 10 games, Lewis and its opponents have combined for an average total score of 136 points, lowest in the GLVC. It ranks 13th in the 15-team league in scoring offense (68.7 ppg) but second overall in scoring defense (67.3 ppg).

HOUNDS vs. FLYERS
UIndy and Lewis have faced off 84 times since their first meeting in December of 1980 – tied for the most of any of the Hounds' current GLVC opponents (USI). The Flyers own a 48-36 edge all-time, including a 77-64 victory at Nicoson Hall on December 15. UIndy shot a season-low 34 percent from the floor that night, while senior Cory Miller Jr. amassed 22 points and 12 rebounds to notch his first career double-double.

LAST WEEK
The Greyhounds encountered a rare scheduling quirk last week, facing off with in-state rival Southern Indiana twice in a 48-hour span. The Hounds picked up their first win of the season with a 62-61 victory in Nicoson Hall on Thursday but came up short in an 80-75 final in Evansville two days later.

MILESTONE WIN
The aforementioned win versus USI last Thursday marked the first career "W" for rookie head coach Paul Corsaro. UIndy trailed by as much as 13 points and but forced 23 USI turnovers and hit some big shots down the stretch to earn the comeback win. Redshirt-freshman Jesse Bingham scored the game-winning points by hitting two free throws in the final minute, part of a season-high 21 points.

THREE & DEE
After struggling to find his shooting stroke of late, Dee Montgomery broke out with a 21-point performance at USI Saturday, matching a career high. The senior guard hit 8 of 15 shots from the field, including five triples, while also continuing his streak of recording at least one steal in every game this season.

RISING STAR
Through his first nine games as a college basketball player, redshirt-freshman Jesse Bingham is averaging 11.7 points per game while topping the team in both rebounding (6.3 rpg) and blocks (1.0 bpg). The graduate of local Warren Central High School has lifted his 3-point percentage to .462 for the season, good for 10th in the conference overall and seventh among those with at least 25 attempts.

NO SOPHOMORE SLUMP
Second-year big man Kendrick Tchoua has been a force in the middle for the Hounds, ranking second the GLVC in field goal percentage (.614) and third in offensive rebounds (2.8 orpg). He currently averages 9.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per contest.
