INDIANAPOLIS – Four student-athletes on the University of Indianapolis men's soccer team earned an esteemed honor on Thursday as the Collegiate Sports Information Director of America (CoSIDA) announced the 2021 Academic All-District selections. Dimitrios Karousos, Makel Rasheed, Eli Dulle, and Alejandro Steinwascher were all named to the NCAA Division II District 4 team.
 
Karousos, who is majoring in Physics and holds a 3.82 GPA in the classroom, earns this honor for the second season in a row. The back-to-back First Team All-GLVC selection has started in all 16 matches so far this season for the Hounds, leading the Great Lakes Valley Conference in goals against average (0.734) and shutouts (7).
 
Rasheed is selected to the list after managing a 3.52 GPA with a major in Sports Marketing. The back-to-back GLVC Defensive Player of the Year has appeared in all 16 matches this year and has led a strong Greyhound defense that has allowed just 12 goals in 16 matches played.
 
Dulle has accumulated an impressive 4.0 GPA in the classroom while majoring in Accounting. The 2021 Third Team All-GLVC selection has started in all 16 matches so far, rolling out four goals and four assists on the season. Recently in the GLVC Championship Tournament quarterfinals, Dulle added a pair of goals to help lift the Greyhounds past Lindenwood.
 
Finally, Steinwascher makes an appearance alongside his teammates with his 3.34 GPA while majoring in Marketing. The back-to-back GLVC Offensive Player of the Year is having a stellar season so far by amassing a team-high 11 goals and six assists while holding the top GLVC mark in six different statistical categories (goals per game, points per game, shots per game, shots on goal per game, total goals, and total points).
 
To be eligible for the nomination, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in good academic standing with at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA, and must be a starter or important reserve. Karousos, Rasheed, Dulle, and Steinwascher advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. The Academic All-America honorees for men's and women's soccer will be announced on December 9th.
