INDIANAPOLIS—UIndy football student-athletes
Toriano Clinton and
Clay Hadley were named to the 2020-21 Academic All-District® Football Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The annual release recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
Â
Clinton finished a stellar season as Division II's leader in rushing yards per game. He needed just eight games to break the school's single-season rushing record, amassing 1,525 yards despite missing two whole gams and the majority of a third due to injury. He twice broke the program's single-game rushing record and also set the DII mark for most rushing yards in a quarter.
Â
Clinton is a Sport Management major with a 3.44 cumulative GPA. He inclusion marks the third consecutive Academic All-District® nod for Chicago native, who also garnered Academic All-America® Second Team accolades last spring.
Â
Opening holes for Clinton was offensive tackle Hadley. Earning his second career Academic All-District® honor, the Greenwood, Ind., product helped the Hounds rank highly in DII in rushing offense (7th), scoring offense (11th), total offense (11th) and fewest tackles for a loss allowed (16th). Hadley started every single game at UIndy since stepping onto campus, an impressive streak that topped out at school-record 49 straight.
Already having earned a bachelor's degree at UIndy, Hadley sports a 3.68 GPA in the school's MBA program.
Â
UIndy's two Academic All-District® honorees will advance to the Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team honorees will be selected soon.
